A guide for lash artists
Are UV and LED lash extensions safe?
UV lash extensions, also sold as LED or UV-cured lash extensions, are set with a glue cured by light. A set uses a small, low-power LED for about a second per lash, on a client whose eyes are closed and covered. Here is what the light is, what covers the client and what protects the artist, with the figures.

One narrow band, where UVA meets visible violet.

What covers the client.
Before the lamp is switched on, the client's skin is covered, so only the lash line sees the light.

The artist
What protects the artist.
You look towards the lamp for hours a day, so we strongly advise UV-protective eyewear for every set. Beam Guard glasses have tinted, coated lenses made for exactly that, and are light enough to forget you have them on.

The glue has very low fumes, its ingredients are listed on this page, and the safety data sheet is available on request.

What does TPO free mean?
TPO is a photo-initiator: the ingredient that starts the cure when the light comes on. The European Union has banned it from cosmetic products since 1 September 2025. Adhesive Max does not use it. Of the 11 UV lash glues whose pages we read, 3 state that they are TPO free, 2 list TPO as an ingredient and 6 say nothing either way.
Who can apply UV lash extensions?
Trained lash artists. Our glues are professional products and are not for use at home.
Are UV lash extensions better than regular lash extensions?
They give the longer-lasting bond, and it sets when you switch on the lamp, in any humidity. The method uses a UV LED lamp, and the client's lids and under-eyes are covered for every set. For artists who do not use UV LED, regular glue is the right choice, and Adhesive Pro is the best standard glue. UV or regular glue: what changes
How are UV lash extensions removed?
With a lash remover, the same kind used for regular lash glue. Removal is a job for a lash artist.
How do you care for UV lash extensions?
The same way as any lash extension set: go through your usual aftercare with your client. Once cured, the bond resists water and oil.
