Retention

Still on, week after week.

With correct application and aftercare, a set holds for 10 to 12 weeks. A light-cured bond is the same from the first lash to the last, whatever the humidity was that day.

The bond

Why a light-cured bond holds.

A regular glue starts to set the moment the lash is placed, at the speed the room allows. A UV glue sets when you say so.

  1. The lash is seated first

Nothing bonds until the light is on, so each lash sits where you want it before it sets.

  2. The same bond on every lash

It sets in 0.5 to 1 second under the lamp, in any humidity: the first lash and the last are cured the same way.

  3. Set before the next lash

Each bond is cured before you reach for the next extension, so the whole set is cured when the client gets up.

  4. Water and oil

Once cured, the bond resists both.

The set

What makes a set last.

  1. Clean lashes

Cleanse before any tape goes on. Oil, make-up and residue are what break a bond.

  2. Light on the bond

The lamp about 20 cm away, at roughly 45 degrees. Cure a few test lashes and adjust until the bond sets in about a second.

  3. A shaken, fresh bottle

Shake for 30 seconds before use. Squeeze out the air, close the bottle and store it away from light.

  4. Aftercare

Go through aftercare with your client as you always do.

Questions

UV lash retention, answered.

How long do UV lash extensions last?

With Adhesive Max and correct application and aftercare, 10 to 12 weeks, or until the natural lash sheds.

Do UV lash extensions last longer than regular ones?

With our two glues, yes. Adhesive Max holds for 10 to 12 weeks, and Adhesive Pro, the best standard glue, for 7 to 8, both with correct application and aftercare.

Do LED lash extensions last longer?

LED lash extensions and UV lash extensions are the same method, so the same figure applies: 10 to 12 weeks with Adhesive Max.

Do UV lashes have better retention?

A light-cured bond sets fully under the lamp, the same way on every lash and in any humidity. That is where the longer hold comes from: 10 to 12 weeks with Adhesive Max.

Can UV lash extensions get wet?

Once cured, the bond resists water and oil, and every bond is cured under the lamp during the appointment.

Are UV lash extensions safe?

Used as directed, the exposure is small: low-power light at around 395 nm, for about a second per lash. Under-eye patches and black tape cover the client's skin, the client's eyes stay closed, and we strongly advise UV-protective eyewear for the artist. Follow the guide for every set. UV lash safety, with the figures

How do you care for UV lash extensions?

The same way as any lash extension set: go through your usual aftercare with your client. Once cured, the bond resists water and oil.

How are UV lash extensions removed?

With a lash remover, the same kind used for regular lash glue. Removal is a job for a lash artist.

How long does UV lash glue last?

On the lashes: with correct application and aftercare, 10 to 12 weeks, or until the natural lash sheds. In the bottle: unopened bottles keep for 5 months, and one 5 mL bottle covers 70 to 100 appointments.
